How many Members
does ESME have?
ESME has forty-nine
(49)Institutional members.These are institutions whose
occupations are directly or indirectly linked to the practice
and science of Mechanical Engineering. Annual growth has been
between 5-8 institutions. Institutional Members have the benefit
of participating free of charge in ESME's Annual Conferences
and Workshops. They get free publications and reduced rates
for training fees. Institutional Members pay 1000.00 Birr
(1USD ~ 8.56 Birr) annually.
ESME also have 630
Individual Members with encouraging annual growth
of more than 30 members.
What type of membership is available?
Membership Typs are:
- Senior
Member (Mechanical Engineer above 10 years experience)
Membership fee: 200 Birr.
- Member
(graduate ME with more than 3 years experience) Membership
fee: 100 Birr.
- Associate
Member (graduate ME) Membership fee: 50 Birr.
- Honorary
Member (non ME but with outstanding contribution to the
profession nominated by the Members Council and approved
by the General Assembly). Membership fee: free
- Student
Member Membership fee: 15 Birr
- Affiliate
Member (graduate with University Diploma in Mechanical
Engineer). Membership fee: 50 Birr
The
structure of the society is as follows:

- Councils
(about 16 members);
- Secretariat
(3 workers).
The
ESME is one of the founding members of the ten Ethiopian scientific
and engineering societies called Professional Associations
Joint Secretariat (PAJS). It is also member of the International
Congress of Mechanical Engineering Societies (ICOMES). |
